Bring It On 03:47
The daytime leaves me too weary to even just sing the blues. My strength is gone and I’ve given up on doing the two things I wanna do: singing and loving you. But midnight’ll be here soon. Bring It On, Bring It On. Play my song, play my song. Let my girl in. Let the world in. Close to midnight, Bring It On. Bring It On, Bring It On. I feel strong, I feel strong. Though at sundown I’m too run-down, close to midnight, Bring It On. Bring It On. Bring It On. I sell my soul in the sunshine, and do all I’m paid to do. But I can say, at the end of the day, there are just two things I wanna do: singing and loving you. Now midnight can’t come too soon. Day turns into night and into heaven. Night turns into day and into hell. All day long I find myself still wishing midnight could last all day long as well. But I can say, at the end of the day, there are just two things I wanna do: singing and loving you. Now midnight can’t come too soon. © Anthony Priwer

Amanda 04:11
It’s not really a word; it’s a name. But I’ll use it just the same ’cause even after all this time gone by, “Amanda” is the only word; the only word that I have heard. “Amanda” is the only word I have heard that describes you, describes you. No other word says ev’rything; the many thoughts that I’m thinking. No other word says ev’rything I’m thinking and describes you, describes you. Well, I guess this must mean I’m in love. Tell me a word and it won’t say enough. “Amanda” is the only word; the only word that I have heard. “Amanda” is the only word I have heard that describes you, describes you well. © Anthony Priwer

They Thought I Was Your Boyfriend. They saw us and they thought that I was your boyfriend. And if they could’ve thought that, if they could’ve said that “This must be your boyfriend”, why couldn’t you think that I could be your special somebody here with you tonight? Isn’t this what a boyfriend does? Keeps his promise that he’ll show up? I don’t think he’s meant to go straight on home. Oh, no, no. They Thought I Was Your Boyfriend, and you sure were talking like I was your boyfriend. Yes, you whispered in my ear and looked into my eyes like I was your boyfriend. And when you sang up there on that stage, sang all your cares away, I cried out for more. Isn’t this what a boyfriend does? Wants to see you do what you love? We don’t see you on that stage very much anymore. This was your big night and your boyfriend really should’ve been here. But I didn’t mind that he didn’t end up coming in here. ’Cause just you and me was just like old times, and maybe someday those days will be mine again. Someday, somehow, but as for now, you’ll go home to your boyfriend, though ev’ryone here thought that I was your boyfriend. And if they could’ve thought that, if they could’ve said that “This must be your boyfriend”, why couldn’t you think that I could be your special somebody here with you tonight? Isn’t this what a boyfriend does? Thinks about you a bit too much? Maybe you should start to think what they thought about me. They Thought I Was Your Boyfriend. © Anthony Priwer

Don’t go throwing me a party. Most things I could have here won’t do. All I want is For My Birthday to be spent here with you, just you. Don’t go buying me a present. Most things I could unwrap won’t do. All I want is For My Birthday to be spent here with you, just you. But you won’t be calling by, so I guess, like last year, I will make dinner for two and wish for you, blowing birthday candles out. Don’t go baking me a cake now. Most things I could eat up won’t do. All I want is For My Birthday to be spent here with you, just you. © Anthony Priwer

Do you take this woman for your lawful wedded wife, to live in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love, honour, comfort and cherish her from this day forward, forsaking all others, keeping only unto her, for as long as you both shall live, both shall live? And do you take this man for your lawful wedded husband, to live in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love, honour, comfort and cherish him from this day forward, forsaking all others, keeping only unto him, for as long as you both shall live, both shall live? Then what God has joined together, Let Not Man Put Asunder. Lyrics traditional Music © Anthony Priwer

When life is going nowhere, I don’t just hang around. I start to pack my suitcase to move to another town. That’s one small step for a man, and one giant leap for a man without a woman. A Woman Would Be Nice to have someone to talk to. A Woman Would Be Nice to have someone to hold. When I take a leap of faith so far away from home, A Woman Would Be Nice to not have to leap on my own. Ev’rything’s lost or broken. Nothing feels meant to be. Still, I get up each morning and try to find what I need. © Anthony Priwer

Whatever it is, you know I’m gonna sing it. Whatever it is, it’s gonna be a song. Whatever the song, I’m sure that you’ll be in it. But will you hear it or will you be gone? ’Cause right now I need you gone like I need another sad song. I don’t need another sad song ’cause that’s all I’ve sung for so long. Save Me from a Sad Song, one more heartache. Save Me from a Sad Song. You could still make it happy, so be my baby. You could Save Me from a Sad Song. Whatever you want, I hope that I can give you. Whatever I do, I hope I don’t do wrong. But if it goes wrong, I hope that I’m still with you. And when I’m with you, you’re not good as gone. Save me from the hurt. Save me from the pain. Save me from the song I’ll sing if you’re soon gone again. Whatever it is, you know I’m gonna sing it. Drowning in a pool of your own tears, this will be the price you’ll pay for love. Through your misty eyes, one thing is clear; in the end, you didn’t do enough. You thought that you could take your time, but time can never wait, and when there’s Nothing Left to Do but Cry, it’s always too late. No one’s gonna love you anymore. She could only love you in your mind. When the truth came pounding on your door, all of your regrets weren’t far behind. You wish you’d loved her diff’rently, and not made those mistakes, but when there’s Nothing Left to Do but Cry, it’s always too late, much too late. It’s too late to bar the door and lock the gate, or maybe open up your heart to make her stay. ’Cause when there’s Nothing Left to Do but Cry, it’s always too late. Anything that’s not been said or done, won’t be said or done any time soon. You’ve blown ev’ry chance under the sun. You’ve blown ev’ry chance beneath the moon. You thought that you could take your time, but time can never wait, and when there’s Nothing Left to Do but Cry, it’s always too late, much too late. It’s too late to bar the door and lock the gate, or maybe open up your heart to make her stay. ’Cause when there’s Nothing Left to Do but Cry, when there's Nothing Left to Do but Cry, when there's Nothing Left to Do but Cry it’s always too late. © Anthony Priwer

They told me a photographer would come and take my picture for a story in the paper the next week. He said, “Meet me tonight at that little bar down the street.” I noticed him as I walked in; his cam’ra told me this was him. I saw a man not quite still in his prime. He said, “Order a drink and then tell me your life and times.” I shared a story from my life, about someone I didn’t like, and that’s when this old man took me to task. He said, “Liking someone is like taking their photograph. You’ve gotta find their good side, find their good side. Don’t leave till you’ve got ’em from their good side. One side will be kinder. Your job is to find a person’s good side.” The man worked fast, the man worked clean, and when he’d got that shot of me, he checked his watch, then gulped his whiskey down, and said, “Son, I can’t stay. Got a poker game way ’cross town.” As well as a photographer, I’d met me a philosopher, and he said what to say on his behalf. He said “Liking someone is like taking their photograph. You’ve gotta find their good side, find their good side. Don’t leave till you’ve got ’em from their good side. One side will be kinder. Your job is to find a person’s good side.” © Anthony Priwer

I’ll be Good as New for you, though I may have work to do. My heart will need spring cleaning. I’m starting as we speak. You know just what I’m meaning. So, not today and not next week, but someday before spring is through, I’ll be Good as New for you. The love I lost in winter has torn my heart in two, but I’ll be Good as New, my springtime love, for you. Pour toi, je serai Tout Comme Neuf, quand j'aurai fait ce qu’il faut. Le nettoyage de printemps, je m'y mets tout d'suite. Tu sais ce que je veux dire. Pas aujourd'hui et pas demain, but someday before spring is through, I’ll be Good as New for you. The love I lost in winter has torn my heart in two, but I’ll be Good as New, my springtime love, I’ll be Good as New for you. I’ll be Good as New for you. © Anthony Priwer French lyrics © Ian Coulls
